IST Department is under the College of Information and Communication Technology (COICT) at Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST). The department’s core mission is to provide top-quality teaching, carry out impactful research, and offer technological-relevant consultancy services in the diverse disciplines of ICT. The academic programs within the department include diplomas, undergraduate degrees, postgraduate degrees (Master's and Ph.D.), and short courses in ICT. To enhance skills and knowledge in ICT, the department has developed a variety of short courses and invites a wide range of stakeholders to apply. These courses will be conducted in MUST main campus, as outlined in the schedule provided below.

Contents:

·       Introduction to CCTV systems and components.

·       Types of cameras, lenses, and recording devices.

·       Site survey, system design, and cabling standards.

·       Installation techniques for indoor and outdoor environments.

·       Configuration, networking, and remote access setup.

·       Troubleshooting, maintenance, and system optimization.

·       Safety practices, legal considerations, and documentation.

Target Group:

Technicians, security personnel, electrical engineers, ICT professionals, and individuals seeking careers in security systems.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the course, participants will be able to design, install, configure, and maintain professional CCTV surveillance systems. They will acquire skills in system troubleshooting, remote monitoring setup, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
