COURSE DESCRIPTION

This short course provides hands on training in safe welding practices and metal fabrication techniques. Participants learn basic metallurgy, joint preparation, arc welding operations, and simple fabrication of metal structures, with emphasis on quality workmanship, inspection, and defect correction.

COURSE CONTENTS

1. Occupation safety, hazard control and workshop organization

2. Basics of welding and metallurgy

3. Types of Welding (Arc welding, Oxy-acetylene and MIG)

4. Practical welding and sample fabrication

5. Inspection, defects, repairs and drawings

Target group

This course targets people who wants to learn or solidify their skills in welding technologies and metal fabrications. This includes; graduates (from primary school leavers to university)  from non-technical educations, artisans, technicians and engineers from both private and government sector

Learning objectives Outcomes

Participants will be able to:

1. Demonstrate safe welding practice

2. Perform different types of welding operations

3. Fabricate the basic structures

4. Inspect the welding defects and perform repairs of the welding profiles.

Certification

Participants who successfully complete the course will be awarded a University

Certificate of Completion in Labour Based Technology issued by the college.

Participation Fee

400,000 TZS for Tanzanians  and 200 USD for Non Tanzanians .
