1. INTRODUCTION

Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST), through the College of Information and Communication Technology, continues to empower individuals with relevant digital skills to meet the demands of the modern technological landscape.

In pursuit of this goal, the University has developed a specialized short course titled “Digital Catalyst: Tech & AI for University Success.” This program will bridge the gap between secondary school students learning and the demands of higher education, empowering them to become a confident user and creator of technology. A one-week intensive pre-university bootcamp is the perfect way to ensure them that they are not just ready for university, but ready to excel in it. Drawing on Tanzania's latest education strategies and university curricula,

Core Objective: To equip incoming university students with foundational computer skills, digital literacy for academic contexts, and a practical understanding of AI systems, aligned with Tanzania's digital transformation goals.

Duration: 5 Days (Monday to Friday, ~6 hours per day including labs & group work).

Key Pedagogical Considerations:

      i.         Practical & Interactive: Heavy focus on hands-on labs (using local software like TIE resources) and group projects.

     ii.         Contextualized: Uses examples relevant to the Tanzanian context (e.g., local internet data plans, Swahili language AI tools, etc.).

   iii.         Peer Learning: Encourages knowledge sharing among students with differing levels of prior exposure.

1.1 Registration Fee

The course fee is stipulated in Table 1 above for each course session and venue per participant. The training fee is exclusive of VAT and includes:

• Venue and Lab section
• Course materials and hand-outs
• Certification of completion

1.2 Mode of Payment

Payment will be made through the Government Electronic Payment Gateway (GEPG) control number upon confirmation of participation to Mbeya University of Science and Technology.
