Course Description
The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming education globally, yet many secondary school and university educators lack the knowledge and skills to apply these emerging technologies effectively. In Tanzania and similar contexts, there is a growing need to bridge the gap between technological innovation and classroom practice.
In response to the growing role of technology in education, Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST) intends to conduct a training program to build the capacity of secondary school and University teachers in the use of Artificial Intelligence for teaching and learning. By attending, participants will become champions of digital transformation and inclusion, ensuring that all learners benefit from innovative, equitable, and future-ready education.
Target Group
Secondary school teachers from both public and private schools, University lecturers and tutors from both public and private, Heads of schools and academic coordinators, Teacher trainers and education officers involved in curriculum development, pedagogy, and ICT integration.
Training Objectives
· To explain basic concepts and applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
· To integrate simple AI tools into teaching and learning activities.
· To use AI responsibly and ethically in the classroom.
· To design an AI-enhanced lesson or assessment activity.
· To prepare students for AI-driven future skills and digital literacy.
Course Content
Learning outcome
By the end of the training, the participants will be able to
· Explain key concepts and principles of Artificial Intelligence (AI) relevant to education.
· Effectively use AI tools and applications to enhance lesson planning, classroom engagement, and student assessment.
· Apply ethical and responsible practices when integrating AI in teaching and learning.
· Design AI-supported learning activities that promote critical thinking, creativity, and personalized learning for diverse student needs.
· Evaluate and reflect on the impact of AI on teaching practices and student learning outcomes.
· Collaborate with peers and share best practices for AI integration in educational settings.
Registration fee
The training fee (350,000) is exclusive of VAT and includes:
· Venue and logistics;
· Refreshments;
· Course materials and hand-outs Comprehensive course materials, including manuals and presentations; and
· Certification of completion.
Mode of Payment
Payment will be through the Government Electronic Payment Gateway (GEPG) control number upon confirmation of the participants’ to the Mbeya University of Science And Technology.
