AIM OF THE COURSE

The aim of this short course is to equip participants with advanced knowledge and technical skills on electronic records management (ERM) and digitization processes. This is a perfect learning opportunity to introduce participants on how to set up functional records management systems, implementing electronic records management systems, and acquisition of electronic records management systems and its digitization process.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the importance and benefits of electronic records management in modern organizations.
  2. Outline the key stages involved in setting up a functional records management system.
  3. Implement basic ERM tools and technologies in a simulated or real-world context.
  4. Digitize and organize records in accordance with recognized standards and procedures.
  5. Recommend suitable ERM systems based on organizational needs and infrastructure.
  6. Demonstrate the ability to manage electronic records throughout their lifecycle.
  7. Apply ERM principles to improve information accessibility, security, and compliance within their institutions.

 viii.         Preservation of Electronic Records

    ix.         Appraisal and Disposal of Electronic Records

      x.         Digital Archiving


DURATION: 5 days from 13th to 17th April 2026 at Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST)    

TARGET GROUP: Records Management Officers, Records Managers, Archivist, Records Management Assistants, Information Professionals, Secretaries and Office Attendants.

COURSE FEE: The course fee of TZS 500,000/= covers costs of facilitation, training materials (stationery and other consumables), venue, refreshments and meals during sessions.
