Training/Event Description

COURSE DESCRIPTION:  

This Workshop is designed to equip university students with hands-on practical skills in the use of popular accounting software packages, namely Tally ERP 9 and QuickBooks Pro. The course emphasizes real-life accounting applications, enabling participants to process business transactions, generate financial reports, and understand how computerized accounting systems support decision-making in modern organizations. The training adopts a highly practical approach, where each participant works individually on a computer. By the end of the course, students will be able to independently set up a company record transactions, manage ledgers, prepare financial statements, and interpret system-generated reports using both software packages.

COURSE CONTENTS:

Tally ERP 9

Ø  Introduction to computerized accounting, installation of Tally ERP 9, company creation, and configuration of features

Ø  Creation and management of ledgers, recording of cash/bank transactions, sales, purchases, journal entries, VAT, and inventory management.

Ø  Generation and interpretation of financial reports (Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet) and data backup and restore procedures.

QuickBooks Pro

Ø  Introduction to QuickBooks Pro, company setup, preferences configuration, and chart of accounts customization.

Ø  Recording sales, purchases, expenses, banking transactions, and managing accounts receivable, payable, inventory, and payroll concepts.

Ø  Generation of key financial reports (Trial Balance, Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet) and data management, backup, and report exporting.
